UP IN THE WINDY MOORS

I am in my room freezing because someone has turned our air conditioner below the average temperature again. This is going to be a long night.

So, during my period of silence, here's what happened:

Last weekend, my sister and I joined the Battle of Wits, which is a Bible trivia activity in my church for members of our Children's Worship Service. That was fun...even though I lost. I think winning the trivia game would have been pretty neat and all, but even though I didn't win, I had the opportunity to study the lessons in the Bible and that I was able to help my sister understand them as well. So, there's always that to look back to.

Another thing that happened is: I finished reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.

In the beginning of the year, I proposed that I would double the books that I have read last year...and I don't think I came close to achieving that. But I did read a lot of great books this year, so I don't believe I'm a total failure.

So, right. Wuthering Heights. Oh boy!

This book starts off like the beginning of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. You know, it's all quiet and we can feel how miserable everyone is. Then it gets to its full height and the emotions just burst out like the grand rock opera part of Bohemian Rhapsody. That's where everything in the story falls apart and everyone goes crazy. Then it calms down a little. Finally, silence. Everything fades to black. All we can hear is nothing but the wind and someone crying in the distance.

I know that a lot of people say that this book is a shadow that hangs over you and leaves you with sorrow, and I would have to say that...I agree with them.

Most of the characters made me want to punch a wall, but it is a good book. I couldn't put it down when I started reading it. It's a great start to classics. The language can be a little difficult to understand if you haven't read a lot of classics before, but I'm sure you'll get a hang of it once you begin.

This is my introduction to the works of The Bronte Sisters. Boy, am I up for a show!

Anyway, here's some music:
That's all, folks.
